Boating
From
the Adirondack cabins, you are able to travel from Kiwassa Lake, by boat, to the Village of
Saranac Lake, via the Saranac Lake Chain of Lakes. The popular Adirondack route
from Kiwassa Lake takes you through Oseetah Lake into the
Village of Saranac Lake where the Saranac River begins. You may also enjoy a waterway trip 40 miles through scenic
Adirondack lakes, ponds, rivers & streams, & go through State
locks into the Adirondack State Preserve.

Canoe Trips
After, during or
apart from your stay at Cochran's Adirondack Cabins, take a
canoe/camping trip. Park your car at Cochran's who will then
drop you off with your gear, including canoe/kayak, at Lower
or Middle Saranac Lake where camping is available on an
Adirondack island.

Fishing
From and on Kiwassa Lake, fish for
Northern Pike, bass, perch, northern pike, whitefish and panfish. Whether you
prefer fishing on the cool waters of summer or the sub-zero ice that has
formed mid-winter, Kiwassa Lake offers some of the best fishing in the
Adirondacks. ESPN has even held its Great Outdoor Games Bass Fishing
Tournament on the Saranac Chain of Lakes!

Attractions Not far
away are the Adirondack Mountain attractions such as Whiteface Mountain
& chairlift, the North Pole, Great Escape Adventure Park, Ausable
Chasm, Adirondack Museum, the Olympic Center & the Lake Placid
Village, Six Nations Indian Museum, & the N.Y. State Fish Hatchery.
Local Events
There are a multitude of local events regardless of the time
of year you visit. Saranac Lake hosts multiple annual events
with two popular ones being the Annual Can-Am Rugby
Tournament and the Winter Carnival. Lake Placid was the site of the 1932
and 1980 Winter Olympics and is currently the hose of the
Ironman competition on an annual basis.

There are 46 peaks to climb in the Adirondacks! Why not

The Adirondacks is home to deer, raccoon, squirrels, hawks,
loons, etc. Bring your binoculars and your camera - the
wildlife is amazing.
Day trips
By car you can travel in and around the Adirondacks as well
as into Vermont and Montreal. Some of our favorites include
Ben & Jerry's factory (VT), the Memorial Highway (Lake
Placid / Ausable) and Saratoga Springs.
